2024 Development Guide

Building a Downtown for the Future

Good decisions in Downtown St. Pete over the past century have helped to ensure our urban center remains walkable, safe, green and vibrant. But we still have challenges. St. Petersburg is growing up – quickly moving from a big town to a small city, with all the trials that accompany rapid transformation.

This Guide is a snapshot in time. It is designed to encourage public and private decisions that enhance the thing we love about this place.

Data

With significant projects moving forward in 2024, it is the right time for St. Petersburg to recommit to smart growth. Downtowns that combine mixed-income housing, creative workspaces, authentic diversity, distinct entertainment offerings, and multi-modal transportation will continue to thrive. We support decisions that safeguard property values, encourage investment and thoughtful development, enhance cultural amenities, and build an inclusive downtown that belongs to everyone.
