2022 Development Guide

Curated Development

Change is the only constant—and St. Petersburg is changing quickly. We are going through a historic evolution, and the next few years will shape the future of our urban center in profound ways. This Developer’s Guide—designed for developers, property owners, investors, employers and entrepreneurs—is a snapshot in time that documents our current building boom. It also is designed to help guide future development. We want to preserve and enhance the things that make our community so special. We also want to welcome new development that creates value and supports our community’s vision for inclusion and sustainability. We want to support developers who take the time to get to know Downtown St. Pete and who want their developments to integrate into our community’s fabric, history and future aspirations.

Data

Development in Downtown St. Pete is not solely measured by the number of cranes looming over bustling city streets. Though current and planned developments are significant, public and private sector leaders are setting standards for the structures to come—paying homage to the past and setting best practices for St. Petersburg’s future. Our Downtown’s hard and soft infrastructure, including office space, residential housing, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, educated workforce and higher education pipeline continue to draw new businesses. Many relocating businesses hail from traditional tech markets. Relocating companies are finding quality of life and a dedicated workforce at significantly lower costs than larger employment centers.
