NOAA Predicts Busy Hurricane Season to Collide with COVID-19

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) yesterday released its 2020 hurricane season forecast.

The NOAA predicts above average activity this year, forecasting a likely range of 13 to 19 named storms, of which 6 to 10 could become hurricanes, including 3 to 6 major hurricanes (category 3, 4 or 5).

Most importantly this year, the NOAA encourages all those with hurricane preparedness plans to keep COVID-19 in mind when revising their plans for this year’s hurricane season, and to be ready to adjust their plans to comply with social distancing and other public health guidelines issued by state and local authorities.
