Cities are built of bricks, steel, and glass. Good cities also have green space, art, and a distinct sense of place. Cities are built with and by people who shape the values, culture and built environment of any given place. The best cities are also built by stories, metaphors, and myths. The Big Apple and the Big Easy are two great American cities with distinguishing stories that are as meaningful and important as the buildings and people who built them.
The City Builder Award tells the story of one individual who has made a momentous contribution to building St. Pete’s urban center and whose values and commitment to community set them apart from other investors or developers.
St. Petersburg is still a young city. By preserving and sharing the stories of the people who helped to build this special place, we hope to help shape the values of future leaders, guiding our evolution as we reinforce the things that have helped to make this such a special place.
Join us for the first annual City Builder Awards ceremony on January 39th from 6-9pm at The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art, where we will honor Darryl LeClair, CEO, President & Chairman of Echelon. All proceeds will benefit Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital.
